Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and bread has puffed up.Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over top of casserole.Take casserole dish from the fridge and remove the saran wrap.When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350 F.Cover with saran wrap or place in a ziplock bag and place it in the fridge. Using a cheese grater, grate butter and mix together until it forms a crumble.To make crumb topping ( this can be made ahead and refrigerated) combine flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt and mix well to combine.Cover your pan with saran wrap and place it in the fridge overnight, or for at least 6 hours.You want the bread to be evenly coated and wet. If necessary give the mixture a stir using a spatula. Pour egg mixture evenly over the bread, making sure to coat all the pieces.In a large bowl mix, milk, eggs, sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and cinnamon.Cut French bread loaf into 1 inch chunks and add them to a greased casserole dish.Butter: Grate cold butter with a cheese grater before adding it to the crumble.Salt: Helps to bring out the sweet flavors of the cinnamon and sugar.Cinnamon: Is a must in the crumb topping.It adds a great caramelization to the top when baked.
